In the seven years that Chris Serio has been racing, he has won three championships, received six awards and broken four track records. He has demonstrated on the track that he has the talent, maturity and experience to race competitively at the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) level of racing. Chris is an up and coming driver who is going to put Alabama racing back on the map and has his sights set on Busch Series and Nextel Cup Series racing. Chris Serio Racing (CSR) is currently looking for sponsors for the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season, so be sure to check out our sponsorship packages.

Chris was born in 1983 in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Hoover High School where he played on the Football team. His love for racing started with the influence of his father, Anthony Serio, who had raced in the Legend Cars Series for many years and had made quite a name for himself and Team Serio Motorsports. Chris started racing in his father's Legend Car part-time when he was only14 years old. That would only be the start of his love for getting behind the wheel of a race car.

In 1998 Chris started driving full time and jumped behind the wheel of a Legend Car quite confidently. His rookie year would turn out to be quite a promising one. That year he finished 2nd in the Semi-Pro Division of the State of Alabama Legend Car Series, he finished 6th in the Atlanta Motor Speedway Points Championship and he won 8 feature races in the Legend Car Series. 1999, only his second year of racing full-time, would turn out to be a very successful year for Chris. He moved to the Pro Division in the Legend Car Series at only 18 years old during 1999. Chris would go on to win the State of Alabama Pro Division that year and finished 7th in the World Championship Legend Car Series. He set 3 track records that year and won 12 of 19 feature races. Chris competed against and defeated both Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Kurt Busch at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Pro Division Legend Car Series race that same year.

In 2000, Chris started pulling double duty and competed in both the Legend Car Series and the Parts Pro Truck Series at the same time. This period would prove to be a stepping stone to things to come for Chris. Driving in two Series at one time allowed Chris the opportunity to become experienced in different types and conditions of racing and enabled him to become a more well rounded race car driver. That year Chris won 13 feature races in the Legend Car Series, had 2 Parts Pro Truck wins and finished 7th in the National Parts Pro Truck Series.

In 2001, Chris set his sights on the Southern Thunder Late Model Stock Car and Truck Series where he competed in the Truck Series. Chris finished 9th in points while running a limited schedule that year. In 2002 Chris competed in the O'Reilly Southern All-Star Truck Series where he had top 5 finishes in all 14 races that he attended and finished 9th in points. In 2003, Chris would return to the O'Reilly Southern All-Star Truck Series where he had 9 starts, 2 wins, 2 top 5's, 4 top 10's and finished 9th in points without running the full schedule. Truck Series racing gave Chris the experience that he needed to step up to the next level and also gained him the exposure that he needed to be noticed in the ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America)Racing Series.

In 2004, Chris dominated the Late Model Stock Car Series and won the BIR (Birmingham International Raceway) Championship in the Coca-Cola Late Models Series. He set the track record at BIR for the most consecutive races won. Chris also entered one O'Reilly Southern All-Star Truck Series and finished 2nd in 2004. Chris performed very well in all of the 2004 races and sparked several news_paper_reviews. Chris was finally about to get the recognition that he had earned with his previous years of racing.

Late in the 2004 race season Chris drew the attention of Cunningham Motorsports, an established ARCA Team, who had heard of Chris and the name that he was making in the Late Models races. Cunningham Motorsports offered Chris the opportunity to drive an ARCA Series car. Chris tested at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the first time in October of 2004 and ran a 30.94 second lap, which is only .90 of a second off Nextel Cup driver Mark Martin and .71 of a second off Busch Series driver Martin Truex, JR.. After a very successful test session in Atlanta, Chris Serio was ready for his first start in the ARCA Series. Next, Chris would head to Toledo, Ohio for his first full fledge ARCA race.

In the August 2004 Toledo Speedway ARCA race practice session, Chris would drive a Robert Yates powered Ford Taurus and post a test time of 16.82 seconds, which was the 5th fastest time in practice. This test time unofficially broke the track record at that time. He returned to Toledo in September for the ARCA race and posted an 8th place qualifying position. Chris ran well in the race with a best position of 3rd place while racing with the leaders, but finished in 20th position after a late crash that was no fault of his own.

In January of 2005, Chris tested for two days at Talladega Super Speedway wile driving a Cunningham Motorsports ARCA car. During the two day test session, Chris ran very well and set a best lap time of 51.9 seconds. Chris has had quite a bit of time running on some of the fastest tracks on the racing circuit and has the experience and mind set that will carry him to a winning ARCA Series record.

When Chris is not behind the wheel of a race car, he is running his father's chain of Car Wash and Detail Centers in Birmingham, Alabama. Chris has had the loving support of his family over the years and plans to make them proud with his upcoming future.
